Description		    Novellae on the Rambam and discourses by R. Solomon ben Jacob Jaffe Ashkenazi. The title page has a decorative border and is dated, “And I will make וכרתי (636 = 1876) a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them” (Ezekiel 37:26). There is an approbation from R. Abraham Palache of Izmir followed by the introduction of R. Jacob Jaffe, son of the author, who brought the book to press. Next is the text, in two columns in rabbinic type, excepting initial words and headers. The first part of Asher le-Shelomo are the novellae on the Rambam (1a-36b). The second part of the book, with its own foliation, are four discourses on marriage, two eulogies, three discourses on Shabbat Teshuva, two disourses on Shabbat Zikkur, and likkutim on the weekly parshah. The volume concludes with errata and an index of sources. Friedberg incorrectly describes this volume as part 2. This is the only part that was published.
