Description
   Ethical work by R. R. Aryeh Judah Loeb Lifshitz. The title page has an ornamental border and states that it was written by tge gaon, the kabbalist, the righteous R. Lifshit who was the av bet din in several communities in Poland and author of the work Yismah Zaddik. At the bottom of the title page is an English paragraph which describes the book as “Shawas Hoari, contains explanations on religion, morality, etc. by the gross (sic) Rabbi Leib Lifshitz, who was chief Rabbi in many places in Poland, author fo many books.” On the verso of the title page is a depiction of the Western Wall followed by a prohibition on unauthorized reprints. There are several approbations, including a lengthy one from R. Abraham Isaac Kook followed by an approbation from R. Joseph Hayyim Sonnenfeld. There is an introduction form R. Lifshits in Hebrew and then the text, which is divided into eighteen chapters and is in Yiddish. The volume concludes with errata.
