Description
   Scarce copy of the Pizmon le-Simhat Torah originally printed for the Jews of Bombay in 1890. Reprinted in Shanghai, this edition is printed on good paper and in exceptionally good condition, highly unusual for Shanghai imprints. The title page states that it is, Pizmon le-Simhat Torah according to the customs of Baghdad. Printed at the expense of Moses Judah Kohen, shamash of Keneset Eliyah at the press of . . . in Bombay in the month of Elul 690 (1890). Below this text, from the Bombay addition, is here added, Printed by his son, Meir Zion Moses Judah Kohen 1935, Shanghai. The piyyutim are liturgical prayers with refrain. The text of the title page also appears on the volume cover. The volume is set in square vocalized letters.
