Description		    Anti-Christian polemic work contending that their bible in fact supports the thirteen principles of the Jewish faith by Don David Nasi. The title page states that part one ofthis work is tractate Eduyyot, eighteen representatives of J. makers of a new covenant whose mouths testify but not from its truthfulness, the truth with everlasting proofs the thirteen principles, “The Torah of the Lord is perfect” (Psalms 20:8). Part two is nine arguments on sources and principles of faith There is an introduction from the author, which concludes by identifying him as Don David Nasi of Candia, brother of Don Joseph Nasi (c. 1524-79), author of Porat Yosef. Ben Porat Yosef (Constantinople, 1577), presumqbly the same work, is a polemic against astrology, which records a dispute Don Joseph Nasi had with certain Christian dignitaries. Next is Maimnides’ “thirteen principles.” The text is in two parts. As the title page states part one is the thirteen principles with the author’s arguments and proofs and part two is hoda’at ba’al din on nine sources and principles of faith. The title page has the date הק"ץ (195 = 1435), which is inconsistent with the dates of Don Joseph Nasi, presumably the author’s brother.

בהקדמה כותב המחבר, שהיה "המוציא והמביא" ב"בית החשמן ... פראנסיסקו בינטיולי" ולימדו חכמה ודעת. הספר יצא על-ידי ר' רפאל קירכהיים. שנת חיבור הספר הנז' בשער סותרת את הידיעה, שהמחבר היה אחיו של דון יוסף נשיא.
