Description		    Festchrift (Jubilee volume) on Jewish education in Germany celebrating the seventy-fifth anniversary of the Frankfurt am Main Realschule and Lyceum. The cover simply states that it is the Realschule mit Lyzeum der Israelitischen Religionsgesellschaft Frankfurt A. M. 1853-1928 (Six-form high school with Lyceum of the Jewish religious society, Frankfurt A. M. 1853-1928). The title page notes that this is the 75th anniversary festschrift. On the facing page is a portrait of R. Samson Raphael Hirsch, director from 1853-1875. There is a table of contents in two parts, A. Aufsätze (essays), and B. Tafeln (board of directors). The essays are a history of the last 25 years; the Jewish high school (jüdische höhere Schule); apologetics from the student director Dr. Elias Fink; Bernard Shaw from Prof. Dr. Josef Caro; Contributions on old Jewish-German everyday literature (Beiträge zur kenntnis der alten jüdische-deutschen Profanliteratur) by Dr. Meier Schüler; On the problems of Jewish symbolism (Zum Problem einer jüdischen Sybolik) by secondary school teacher Max Munk; on the initial plans to establish a Jewish school with daily instructions (Der erste Plan zur Gründung einer jüdischen Schule mit profanem Unterricht in der Franfurter Judengasse) by secondary school teacher Dr. Salomon Adler. There is a Hebrew section on the commentery Beit Behirah of the Meiri on tractate Hagigah by M. Lange. There are a small number of plates, one of a commemorative plaque honoring Frau Wilhelm Carl von Rothschild, and a portrait of Director Dr. Gerson Lange (1901-23). There is also a foldout with three facsimiles of a documents pertaining to the history of the school.
