Description
Abbreviated edition of R. Simeon Frankfurt's Sefer ha-Hayyim. Kizzur Sefer ha-Hayyim is comprised of a series of prayers, many lengthy and confessional, to be recited on behalf of an ill person, deceased, or when visiting a cemetery, primarily the latter instances. The title page describes it as being printed with large letters, with good ink on fine paper with annotations. Printed with the prayers in a smaller rabbinic font are further pertinent halakhic and instructional matter. The text is followed by a section entitled Sefer ha-Hayyim in Ashkenaz. This section, in Yiddish, is set in Vaybertaytsh. The volume concludes with an index of the prayers.

בראשי העמודים: ספר החיים. מהדורה מקוצרת של ספר החיים לר' שמעון פראנקפורט, עם התפילות מ"מענה לשון" כמו בספר החיים הוצאת ווילהרמרשדארף תפ"ג וההוצאות הדומות לה (כנראה על פי פירדא תצ"ח). טו, [1] דף: תפילות באשכנזית, באותיות צו"ר. שמו של המקצר אינו נזכר כאן. בשנים מאוחרות יצאו קיצורים אחדים בשם קיצור (או: קצור) ספר החיים, ואינם דומים זה לזה.
