Description		    Discourses for various occasions, celebrations, and eulogies by R. Simhah ben Zevi Paltrowitch. The text of the title page begins, “utter speech and express knowledge” (cf. Psalms 19:3) on our holy Torah, great and wondrous with discourses treasured and precious for all occasions and all a person’s wishes, from the beginning of his existence to the end of his days. Worthy explanations in abundance on the written Torah; “a shining path (cf. Job 41:24) to understanding the words of our sages in the Talmud. All in a pure and clear language. Approbations are from R. Saul Hayyim ben Abraham ha-Levi Horowitz, R. Isaac Jeroham ben Mises Joshua Judah Leib Diskin, and R. Abraham Moses ben Zevi ha-Levi Boehm. There are two introductions and a list of the numerous derashot, which include all the occasions of Jewish life, from verity to eulogy, weekly Torah portions, and festivals.

R. Simhah Paltrowitch was a direct descendant of R. Rabbi David ben Samuel Ha-Levi, the renowned 17th-century authority on Jewish law, served as rabbi in Buffalo, New York from l890 to l914. His other works include Simhah Hegyon (1903), Keter Zevi (1906), and Simhah Avot (1927).
