Description		    Halakhic work presented in the form of riddles by R. Menahem Menedel ben Zevi Joseph ha-Kohen Rizikov (b. 1867). The title page has an attractive frame about a concise text which simply states the name of the work and that, “it was written by me, a young man of the house of Aaron R. Menahem Menedel ha-Kohen Rizikov.” Publication data is given in both Hebrew and Cyrillic. Tiferet Menahem has approbations from R. Joseph [שלופער], R. Israel Hayyim דייכעש, R. Elijah Moses, R. Menahem Mendel ben Noah Hayyim Eisenstadt, and R. Aryeh Leib ben Samuel Mordecai.

Tiferet Menahem is comprised of three hundred five riddles followed by their solutions. The riddles, which are very clever, are all of halakhic content and cover a wide variety of subjects. Examples are 42) where do we find a talit that is of value but it is prohibited to go out with it on Shabbat into a reshut ha-rabbim and if done you are obligated to bring a hattos; 56) where do we find tamai and kosher to eat; 156) where do we find a tohor mikveh makes a person tamei; 165) where do we find a Levi more hashuv than a kohen; and 283) where do we find that it is permissible to taste that which is prohibited. The responses follow, in greater length than the queries.
