Detailed
Description
Collection of ethical discourses in defense of Judaism and collected verse by Noah ben Jacob Jacobsohn. The volume has preliminary pages in German, included one that is a fold out. The title page, which follows the German, describes the work as the opening of the tevah (ark) from the side, and the index, weight and measure. It has a verse (not biblical) on the title page, that states, all flesh shall come into the ark, that many peoples may live without enmity. The work begins with the ark of Noah but discuses other biblical events as well. The second part of the volume is verse, opposed to anti-semitism. There are accompanying annotations in German, but the text is set in a single column in square Hebrew letters. Jacobsohn was also the author of Communal banken zur Versoehnung zwischen Kapital und Arbeit und Besserung der allgemeinen Geschaeftslage, durch diese Versoehnung aller Zwischenparteien und Rueckkehr zur Wahlurne (New Yor, n. d.).
