The second work is Be’er Avraham, novellae on the Talmud, from R. Abraham ben Judah Leib Maskileison. The title page describes it as halakhic novellae on the entire Talmud, this being part one on tractate Berakhot and Seder Mo’ed. This is the only part, however, to be published. The title page describes its contents in poetic terms, and relates that R. Abraham was also the author of Maskil Leison (A Maskil of Ethan, Psalms 89:1). The verso of the title page has two introductions from the author, followed by the novellae, in two columns in rabbinic type, excepting headers and initial words. The novellae cover tractates Berakhot and tractates in Mo’ed. Be’er Avraham concludes with brief novellae on the bottom of the final page from R. Abraham’s son.
