Detailed
Description
On Talmudic methodology by R. Nahman Shelomoh Grinshpan. There is a half-title page that states it is on the historical development of that methodology from the earliest periods until the present time. The full title-page further informs that it is a summary of that development with examples from halakhic literature from all periods. Covered is the growth of Talmudic study mentods in the east and west, in the yeshivot of Babylonia and the earliest Italian yeshivot and among the sages of France, and how spread throughout all centers of Torah. It identifies R. Grinshpan as Rosh Mesivta in the yeshivah in Lodz. It was brought to press by the book dealer M. L. Zilingold. There is a brief preface from Grinshpan, and then a much longer introduction in which he discusses earlier Talmudic methodology, concluding with a summary of the introduction. There is an index of the contents which is divided into twenty chapters.
