Description		    Transcript of the Maharal's debate with the Christian priest, Johann Silvestre, before Emperor Rudolf II of Hapsburg, (1552–1612), Holy Roman emperor and king of Bohemia from 1576. The mentally unstable emperor fell under the influence of his valet and other servants, to prevent anti-Semitic actions, the Maharal invited the priest to the Emperor for a debate. The Maharal, intelligently defeated the priest in such a manner as not to antagonize the Emperor and his religion.
