Description |
|
This volume contains the sermon delivered by the author in honor of R. Abiezri Selig Auerbach (son of R. Zvi Binyamin) having served his congregation in Halberstat for 25 years. The sermon was delivered on the Sabbath wherein Parshas Zachor is read (the Sabbath preceding Purim) in 5658 (1898).
R. Auerbach was the descendent of an old Rabbinical family of scholars, the progenitor of which was R. Moses Auerbach, court Jew to the bishop of Regensburg, about 1497. There was also an ancestor named R. Abiezri Selig Auerbech who lived 1726-1767.
