Description		    On religious education and against the contrary viewpoint in modern times by R. Abraham Heller. The title is from, “Then the five men departed, and came to Laish, and saw the people who were there, how they lived in safety, after the manner of the Sidonians, quiet and secure; and there was no one in the land that put them to shame in any thing (maklim davar), such a hereditary ruler; and they were far from the Sidonians, and had no business with any man” (Judges 18:7). Here too, it is the intent of R. Heller, to reveal unpleasant things about current attitudes. The title page states that it is to reveal things not in there time, to the children of Israel, the people of the G-d of Abraham, believers the children of believers, fearers of the Lord and keepers of mizvot. To arouse them to open their eyes, to distance them form the contemporary “gall of asps” (Job 20:14), to instruct them so they do not wash in the muck of vain faiths, but in, “the way on which they should walk” (Nehemiah 9:12, 19). R. Heller is described as a resident of Tornau. At the bottom of t he page is publication information in German. There is an introduction form the author, and trhen the text, in a single column in rabbinic letters. As the title page states, purpose of Maklim Davar is opposed to contemporary concepts that detract from religion and for strenghing faith in Torat Moshe.

נגד "התורניים שבימינו כי הם נסוגים אחור" ובעד מנהיגים "חכמים בעלי מדע, מנהגי הדת להחזיק אותנו בתורת משה" (עמ' 6).
