Description		    Commentary on the bible and homilies in German by M. Deutsch. Kol Dodi has a subtitle, Die biblische Blumenlese : ein Buch für jeden denkenden und gebildeten Menschen, that is, The Biblical flower bloom: a book for each thinking and educated person. The title page informs that the book is appearing in parts (Lieserungen), each to cost 20 Kr. This piece is the first part. There is a dedication to the author’s father, a forward, and then the text, which is set in Fraktur with occasional Hebrew in the text and notes. Each homily begins with a quote, not necessarily from a biblical source. For example, the first quote is from Kant. The homilies are on weekly Torah readings from parashat Bereishit through Veyeira; subject matters are Bereishit, Die biblische erziehungslehre (biblical educational instruction); Noah, Das biblische sprach und Nationalwesen (biblical speech and national nature); Lech lecha, Ein biblische Charakter (a biblical character); and Veyeira, Ein biblische Charakter (a biblical character).
