Description		    Discourses by R. David ben Jacob Amado. The title page with a decorative frame is comprised of four paragraphs, each beginning with zeh (this), dexcribing and praising the work. It is dated, “A Prayer of David. Incline your ear, O Lord, תפילה לדוד הטה ה' answer me” (Psalms 86:1). There is introduction from R. Moses Amado, the author’s son, in which the first seven paragraphs each begin and end with Tehillah. Next are the discourses, in two columns in rabbinic type, excepting headers and initial words, which are in square letters. There are multiple discourses are on a single subject. Tehillah le-David is on marriage (six discourses), Berit Milah, eulogies (twenty four), Shabbat ha-Gadol, Shabbat ha-Levishah, Shabbat Zekhor, and likkutim. The volume concludes with indexes.

R. David ben Jacob Amado, among the Sephardi sages of the early nineteenth century, was born in Izmir (c. 1770) and died in that location on 13 Kislev 592 (November 18, 1831). He went up to Erez Israel in about 1800, residing there until shortly before his death, when he returned to Izmir.
