Description		    Novellae on seven tractates in Seder Kodashim by R. David ben Samuel Mu’ati. The title page, with a decorative frame, enumerates the tractates, which are, Zevahim, B ekhorot, Arakhin, Temurah, Keritot, Me’ilah, and Tamid. R. Mu’ati states on the title page that in order to go into the depths of the subject matter in many places he writes briefly, in many others in allusion for in the absence of other commentaries on Kodashim what appeared correct to him he wrote. He thanks and blesses R. Joseph ha-Kohen Salmonm and R. Jacob ha-Levi Braum who brought the book to press. The title page is dated with the verse, “You will light my candle” (Psalms 18:29). Next is R. Mu’ati’s introduction and then the text, inm two columns in rabbinic type. After the introduction and at the end is an arabesque tail-piece. Tractates in Seder Kodashim are particularly difficult and less frequently learned, so that a detailed commentary on tractates on the Seder is especially valuable.
