Colorful receipt for the Habad Yeshiva Torat Emet in Jerusalem written in Hebrew, English, and Yiddish. The school was founded by R. Shalom Dovber Schneersohn and under the leadership of his son and successor R. Joseph Isaac at the time this receipt was issued.
R. Shalom Dovber Schneersohn (1860 - 1920) was the fifth Rebbe of the Habad Lubavitch Hasidic Judaism movement. He is also known as "The rebbe Rashab" the acrostic of his name. Rashab was the son of R. Samuel Schneersohn, the fourth Habad Rebbe, and the father of the sixth Habad Rebbe, R. Joseph Isaac Schneersohn. He is noted for establishing the first Hasidic yeshiva, Tomchei Temimim. He was a prominent opponent of secular Zionism, and broke with the Agudat Israel organization.
