Detailed
Description
A large, illustrated, decorative poster with gold lettering on a white background. This poster, which is headed Jerusalem, the holy city, has in its center a large menorah with phrases and illustrations throughout. The menorah is bordered by phrases for celebrating the Sabbath and the festivals. There are illustrations of the Maarat HaMachpela , Rachel's Tomb, and also the tomb of the prophet Samuel. To the right is printed the Shalom Aleichem (which is recited Friday night upon returning from the synagogue) followed by Eishet Chayil (from the Book of Proverbs) which is traditionally sung Friday night at the Shabbat table. That is followed by the Kiddush for the Sabbath, and then by the 23rd psalm which is also traditionally sung on the Sabbath. To the left is printed the Kiddush for festivals followed by a pizmon (song) entitled "Rachel Our mother, Redemption", which is attributed by the publisher to the holy R. Yosef Hayyim ben R. Eliyahu (the Ben Ish Hai).

The publisher, Ben-Zion Mordecai Hazan, was born in Baghdad in 1877, and died in Jerusalem in 1951. He emigrated to Erez Israel in 1898.
