The title is a quote from the prophet Hoshea chapter 6, verse 10 and translates :"In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing" . [The verse continues"there harlotry is found in Ephraim, Israel is defiled."] That is followed by a quote from Isaiah - (25:7) And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations.
This broadside is a polemic against the behavior that has been associated with the holiday of Purim - masks, and dances etc. This behavior has degraded – it is associated with ancient Greece and Rome, not with the moral behavior of Europeans.
Sons, Daughter, Parents, Teachers, Leaders and Writers – let us get rid of this despised custom. Do not participate even one of you in these masks and dances ... Remove this disgrace from your people and your land!
