Detailed
Description
The author, the famous Fyodor Dostoyevsky, 1821-1881, here has his name spelled as Dostojewski. The booklet is his notorious essay entitled Die Judenfrage - the Jewish Question wherein the author did not hide his anti-Semitism. There is even a volume of criticism detailing his treatment of the Jews, namely: Goldstein, David I., Dostoyevsky and the Jews, University of Texas Press, 1981.

Hostile portrayals of Jews are scattered throughout the writings of Fyodor Dostoyevsky. (A noteworthy instance is the criminal who remains faithful to the practices of Judaism in Zapiski iz mertvogo doma ("Memoirs from the House of the Dead," 1861–62). In his writing Dostoevsky consistently depicted Jews as negative characters and stereotypes, which reflects the profound anti-Semitism expressed in his letters and personal life.
