Detailed
Description
This work is a history of Palestine during the Mandate period, especially from 1929-1936. The author, Moshe Lipstack, who was born in Dondosanu (Bessarabia) in 1913, emigrated to Palestine in 1934, and moved to Canada in 1957. His name became Sambatyion, after the famous Sambatyon River that has many legends associated with it –some say it was dry on the Sabbath, and others that it only flowed on the Sabbath. He is also the author of other books, including Sefer Eshkelon( of which he was an editor), a diary, an autobiography, Partzufim on Uvdat, a Talmudical dictionary, a book on Spinoza, et alia.
