   Comprehensive calendar for Berlin's Jewish population by Dr. Moses Poppelauer. Begun in 1862 and published annually the calendar includes in addition to the standard items, basic laws and customs to be observed by Jews, all necessary dates and times, gentile holidays, royal birthdays, the weekly Torah portion and the corresponding haftorah, genealogy of the German Kaiser's family with dates, multiple pp. of market dates throughout the Prussian Empire, and period advertisements. The calendar offers a vivid photo of life in 19th century Germany.
