Detailed
Description
Supplications for the speedy recovery of Jewish children suffering from disease and evil eyes. Instructions in Dutch. Since diseases were prevalent, especially among infants, it was the custom to periodically recite penitential prayers (selihot) in order to avert disastrous epidemics or pray for them to cease. These prayers varied from community to community and generally followed local custom.
