R. Akiva b. Mordecai Leib Fisher (1818-1894) was born in Lashbrin, Hungary. In his youth he studied in Ofen and then in Pressburg at the Yeshiva of R. Moses Sofer, the Hatam Sofer. An erudite rabbinical scholar, he studied many years under the Hatam Sofer and was ordained by him. He was married to the daughter of R. Zvi Hirsch Rosenbaum, rabbi of Bitska. In 1845 he assumed the rabbinate of Tet where he served until his passing in 1894. His novellae and responsa were published under the title Ateret Akiva (Bnei Brak 2003-2005) by his descendants.
