Description		    Index to sayings in the Babylonian and Jerusalem Talmuds brought in the Ein Ya’acov, as well as a small number not brought in those works by R. Shraga Phoebus Fraenkel. There is a dedicatory page to J. Hoizman הויזמאן יאנאם, followed by an approbation from R. Gedaliah Tiktin (c. 1810-86) av bet din Breslau. R. Fraenkel’s introduction follows, in which he explains his reasons for compiling Tsiyun li-Derash. He notes that previous works, such as Zikkaron Torat Moshe and Bet Lehem already existed but were scarce, so that he initially thought to republish one of them. However, one was unnecessarily lengthy, the other too brief, so that neither was fully satisfactory, in addition to which material that should have been included was omitted. Therefore R. Fraenkel undertook to prepare this work. Next is an index of the entries (4-9), which are arranged alphabetically. The text is in a single column in square letters. The inside of the front cover has lightly penciled owners’ signatures and writings.
