The title translates as " Why? the old theory in the light of new disasters -- to Jews, awake!"
A work on Zionism by R. Dr. Leopold Kahn, (1859-1909), a Rabbi from Wien. He made a speech at the Zionist Congress in Basel in July, 1898 where he stated that the "Jews will never be assimilated and will never adopt the customs or morals of strangers. The Jew will remain a Jew under all circumstances."
