Description		    Only edition. 200 pp. plus title wrappers, 221:148 mm., wide margins, light age staining. A very good copy bound in later half cloth boards. Rare - no copy in major collections. Includes the original wrappers priced at 25 cents for each pamplet - this lot being the initial four pamplets.
          
Detailed
Description		    A collection of sermons by R. Dr. Liebman Adler. Dr. Adler was born in 1812 in Wiemar to his father, Judah, a teacher in Germany. Dr. Adler immigrated to America, and served in several congregations including Temple Beth El in Detroit where he was installed in 1855, and at Chicago in 1861, where he served until his death in 1892. Dr. Adler avowedly belonged to the radical German Reform school, which, not content with minor innovations in public worship, demanded an adjustment to modern times and circumstances of the professed principles of Judaism, not of its forms merely.
