A discussion of expectant and nursing mothers. This volume is very rare, it is not listed in any library catalogs. It appears as if it were typewritten, and it is single spaced throughout. Dr. Rahel Gotein Straus (1880-1963) is also the author of Wir lebten in Deutschland (a study on German Jewry from 1880-1933) and Sipurim le-nekhdi ha-gadol (stories for my oldest grandchild).
Rahel Goitein Straus had the distinction of being one of the first women medical students officially studying at a German university. She trained at Heidelberg and her dissertation was Ein Fall von Chorionepitheliom and went on to become a well-known doctor.She emigrated to Palestine in 1933 and made their home in Jerusalem. There Rahel practiced medicine and became very active in social work.
