Description		    Rare illustrated medical book warning parents to be heedful that their children do not become guilty of the sin of Onanism. The full title is Darkhei Refuah le-Hait ha-Yedu’ah. The title page states that it is a necessary warning to parents when educating their children that they should not fall into that sin. The signs to recognize the sinful child, opening the youthful eyes so that they do not succumb to the fasle and erroneous belief on this issue. Goodly advice, proper conduct, natural medicine, and more to heal the onan, all well explained according to the latest medical knowledge, with five illustrations. Darkhei Refuah is comprised of twelve chapters, beginning on the verso of the title page. The text begins that most fathers and teachers are unaware of the need to watch boys so that they do not fall into the sin of הוצאת זרע לבטלה. Every father, teacher, and Rosh Yeshivah must keep their eyes open on this issue, for it is widespread among youth. The chapter deals with watchfulness, recognizing the sin, instructing the young, the eyes and hearts as middleman of the sin, eating, sleeping, washing in cold water, exercises, concerning the soul, medicines, hypnotism, and a protective girdle (onanie bandage). An unusual book, not recorded in the Bet Eked Sefarim.
