The title of this work translates as "Manual for systematic instruction in the Jewish religion." It was printed at the press of E. Wertheim. The text is in German, with an occasional word or phrase in Hebrew. The book is really an introduction of to the basics of Judaism. For example, in the section of the books of the Bible each book is introduced with just a phrase or two. And in the section on Jewish festivals and fasts, each is introduced with one or two sentences.
R. Dr. Apolant was the Rabbi in Potsdam from 1851-57, and is the author of a number of other books, including Worte an der Bahre des Stadtraths und Stadtältesten Moritz Meyer, am Freitag den 19. Februar 1869, Rede zur Todten-Feier, Festrede zur Feier der silbernen Hochzeit des Prinzen und der Frau Prinzessin von Preussen, königliche, Hoheiten, and others.
