Title: "Frieden dem Fernen und dem Nahen" (Jes. 57, 19) Predigt zu der von Sr. Majestät dem kaiser u. Könige angeordneten Friedensfeier den 18. Juni 1871, gehalten in der Synagoge zu Pless O/S.
A special address in honor of His Majesty, the Koenig on the occasion of the peace celebration . (In January ,1871 at Versailles, Wilhelm I, formerly the king of Prussia, became Emperor of the German Confederation ,and in May the treaty ending the Franco-Prussian war was signed.) R. Alexander begins with this quote from Isaiah 57:19 "I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to [him that is] far off, and to [him that is] near, saith the L-rd; and I will heal him."
R. Alexander is also the author of three other sermons which were delivered at other special occasions in 1866, 1867 and 1870. He was the Rabbi and delivered sermons in Pless, which is in Prussian Silesia.
