Detailed Description |
|
Julius Guttmann (Yizhak; 1880–1950), philosopher and historian of Jewish philosophy; son of Jacob Guttmann. He was ordained as rabbi by the Rabbinical Seminary of Breslau. From 1910 he lectured in general philosophy at the University of Breslau, and from 1919 in Jewish philosophy at the Hochschule fuer die Wissenschaft des Judentums in Berlin. In 1934 he migrated to Jerusalem, where he was professor of Jewish philosophy at the Hebrew University.
