Detailed
Description
Only edition of this collection of poetry, essays, and letters from the Havurat To’eleth. Printed as a bibliophile edition on heavy clear paper, the title page describes it as part one and notes that the contents were assembled by the members of the Havurat. There is no indication that any other parts were ever printed. The title page is followed by an introduction, which begins that for five years the Havurat To’eleth, founded in Amsterdam, for all who love Torah, is publishing the first fruits of its children. It notes that this is not at all all that is available, but that before publishing more they will wait to see how well this collection is accepted. There is a table of contents and then the text, in a single column; the poetry in square vocalized letters, the remainder of the text in both square and rabbinic letters. Peri To’eleth begins with verse entitled Tehillah le-Moshe from Samuel Muldar (1821), additional verse from him entitled Hattot ha-Ones (1822), a eulogy for Michael ben Solomon Saloomans from Jonah Henna known as Benyaminas, and hakirah ha-loshon from Yakov ben Joshua Moses Falkinua of Fuerth (1862). Among the other essays is one on the subject of marriage’ another on Who is wealthy, he who rejoices in his lot; additional verse, and correspondence.
