Description
R. Hayyim Mordecai b. Nathan Zevi Braunroth (1881-1950) was born in Ostroleko, Poland. His father, a book seller, send him to R. Abraham of Sukachov for his early education. He was ordained at a young age by R. Malkiel Tenenbaum (Divre Malkiel), R. Menahem Yeruhleimsky (Rabbi of Kiltz), and R. Simeon Dov of Shidletz. R. Braunroth served in prestigous rabbinical positions, before accepting the position in Ciechanow where he served from 191639. During his tenure the Polish army instigated a pogrom there in 1920. He immigrated to Erez Israel in 1943 and settled in Tel Aviv. R. Hayyim Mordecai wrote Ozer ha-Hayyim (Piotrkow 1930), Omer u-Devarim (Warsaw 1936), Responsa on milking cows on the Sabbath (Jerusalem 1946), and Seterat Zekenim (Jerusalem 1948). Numerous other works are still in manuscript.
