| This letter states that Shimshon Aharon Polonski was pleased to hear about the establishment of a Talmud Torah in the Yemin Moshe section of Jerusalem. This neighborhood had been improved but the population of the Ashkenazi settlement had declined, and the sound of Torah was silent. And the free thinkers had established a mixed (co-ed) school.
So the author is pleased that the new Talmud Torah which will have both Ashkenazic and Sephardic students studying Torah there will return the crown of Torah …and will increase Torah and glorify it…
Signed: Shimshon Aharon Polonski [He was the Rabbi of the Bet Yisroel neighborhood of Jerusalem].
Yemin Moseh - Named for Sir Moses Montefiore, Yemin Moshe is a small, charming suburb facing the western side of the Old City. There are about 130 houses in this picturesque neighborhood, which was first established outside the Old City walls in 1891
