Description		    Dr. Joseph Eschelbacher (1848–1916), author and rabbi in Bruchsal, Baden (1870–1900) and Berlin. His main work, Das Judentum und das Wesen des Christentums, was written in answer to Adolf von Harnack; others include a biography of Jehiel Michael Sachs and a work on the attitude to the Jews revealed by contemporary Protestant theology.
