Detailed Description |
|
R. Israel Abraham Alter b. Shalom Landau (1886-1942) was born in Oekormezo (Valova) Hungary where his father was the head of the bet din. He was the son in law of R. Isaiah Steiner, the zaddik of Kereszter, and served as rabbi in Edeleny. He wrote Bet Israel (Buenos Aires 1954) novellae to the four parts of the Shulhan Arukh and Bet Israel (Hungary 1942) responsa which was not completed at press due to the Holocaust. |
