Description
Only edition of these novellae on selected tractates by R. Abraham Israel ben David ha-Kohen. The title page describes the volume as novellae in the manner of pilpul and straightforward reasoning on tractates selected from the writings of the late author, the Torah scholar, rabbi, pious, and complete R. Abraham Israel ha-Kohen ben David ha-Kohen, son-in-law of R. Solomon Zalman Alzas. There is a lengthy introduction which provides biographical information and extols the author, built to some extent about the verses in Genesis concerning the Patriarch Abraham. Next is the text, in a single column in rabbinic type. The tractates for which there are novellae are Pesahim (5a-11a), Kiddushin (11b-24a), and Hullin (24a-32a). After the novellae are likkutim on various other tractates.
