Description
Introductory manual on Judaism by Dr. Elias Benedict Cahn. This is exporessed in the title, Leitfaden für den unterricht in der Israelitischen religion (Manual for instruction (teaching) the Jewish religion). Dr. Cahn is identified as Rabbinatsverweser in Mainz. There is a forward from the author, a table of contents, and the text, set in a single column in fraktur. Leitfaden für den unterricht in der Israelitischen religion is in two parts, Von Gott and Vom Menschen, each subdivided. The first part consists of Wollkommenheit des Kraft and Wollkommenheit des Willens (Perfection of Strength and Perfection of Faith). The second part has sixteen sections, among them Wesen des Meschen (nature of the person); Bestimmung des Meschen (definition of a person); heilkeit in Beziehung auf Gott (holiness in relation to God); Wahrhaftigkeit (truthfulness); Selbstliebe (self love); concluding with Gebete vor und nach dem Unterricht (Prayers for before and after the lessons).
