Description
Ethical work on the holiness of the Talmud by R. Schneur Ziskind ha-Levi Raskof. The title, Divrei Emunah Omen, Words of “faithfulness and truth” is from Isaiah 25:1). The title page states that it was written as a testimony in Israel by the author, who is a resident of Breslau. The verso of the title page has verse, beginning, in the midst of the darkness one can behold the wind; with faint sight into the hewn rock. . . . Below are introductory words beginning, “a word in my lord’s ears” (Genesis 44:18), a good man, such and such a one (paloni almoni). The text is in a single column in rabbinic letters. Although there are no chapter headings there are section titles, such as, these words îìéí ìàìä, “the words of G-d” (Numbers 24:17), “living creatures” (Genesis var. cit.), “the place of judgment” (Ecclesiastes 4:16), and “the desire of Israel” (I Samuel 9:20).
