Description		    Unrecorded discourses on marriage and bar mitzvah in Yiddish by R. Samuel ben Meir Reinitz. The title page starts that it is Kol Sasson ve-Simhah “the voice of mirth and gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride” (cf. Jeremiah 7:34, 16:9, 25:10, 33:11) and He will rebuild Zion on its mount and Jerusalem on its foundation. It further states that it has been published (brought to light) to honor Torah and those who learn it in order that mussar will be taken from it and so that they will restore the crown (of God’s glory) as bebore (to its original luster) (Yoma 69b), to marry the daughter of a talmudci scholar and so that a man will give hisdaughter to such a man, “for it is better merchandise than the merchandise of silver” (cf. Proverbs 3:14) and rubies for, “She is a tree of life to those who lay hold on her; and happy is every one who holds her fast (cf. Proverbs 3:18). The verso of the title page has the disclaimer as to the meaning of the words acum, etc, and prayers for the well being of the Karl IV, the last emperor of the Austrian –Hungarian Empire. As he ruled only briefly this mention of him in a Hebrew publication is very rare. There is also a discourse (pp. 10-11) for the bar mitzvah of R. Reinitz’s son, Naphtali Hayyim and concluding with a siyyum made at that time on tractate Kiddushin. Kol Sasson ve-Simhah is bound with its original wrappers.

R. Reinitz (1872-1944) was born in Kantorjanosi and died in the holocaust. He was also the author of Hok ha-Mitzvot
