Description		    Forty-five responsa on all four parts of the Shulhan Aruch and novellae from R. Moses ben Isaiah Furst. The title page describes it as responsa with pilpul, halakhic novellae and explanations of subjects in the Talmud. There is and introduction from the author’s son, R. Isaiah Furst, who was an av bet din in Vienna, a listing of the responsa, and then the text, which is in two columns in rabbinic type. The responsa consist of 1-7 on Orah Hayyim, 8-31 on Yoreh De’ah, 32-41 on Even ha-Ezer, and 42-45 on Hoshen Mishpat. The novellae, which begin on p. 152, are on tractates Ketubbot, Gittin, and Shevu’ot. The volumen concludes with errata.

R. Furst was born in Warsavr, Hungary in 1815. He learned by R. Zevi Hirsch Heller, and married the daughter of R. Abraham Elijah Moses Katz, rav of Petzel. From 1850, he served as Rav in Marash-Varashali, where he also headed a yeshiva. He was considered among the leading rabbis of central Europe in his time, consulting with and consulted by rabbis in Hungary, Galicia, and Transylvania.
