Detailed
Description		    Bi-lingual Hebrew-Italian prayers for the sick and deceased on the establishment of a house for the poor and needy. The first title page, in Hebrew has the heading “abundance of peace” Jeremiah 33:6) and the respite of silence. It continues, for the souls of our brothers the children of Israel of the holy community of Mantua, who in the uprightness of their hearts, left after them a blessing, “to set up a house” (cf. Ezra 9:9) that they built for a shelter and for a refuge for the poor of our people, its foundations cannot be moved. It continues that these are prayers to the living God for all the living of our covenant, “an offering in righteousness” (Malachi 3:3), “at the chamber of the house of the Lord” (cf. !! Kings 23:11). The verso has the verse, “He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honor” (Psalms 112:9) in Hebrew and Italian. The prayers follow in vocalized Hebrew and Itlaian on facing pages. At the end are vignettes of a cherub playing a harp and vessel with a cherub atop it.
