Illustrated French text with Hebrew for instructing children in the basic precepts of Judaism by Rabbin Isaac Marc Choucroun. There is an introduction dated Alger, Juin, 1946 instructions from the author, and the text. At the end of the work is a table of contents listing Precis d’Instruction Religieuse’s twelve chapters, which include Notre Litterature Religieuse, which encompasses Bible and Talmud; Croyance et Pratique which is a discussion of the Ten Commandments; L'amour du Prochain (Love of one’s fellow); Nos Croyances (our beliefs); La Synagogue – Nos Priéres; les Lois Alimentaires (dietary laws); Le Sabbat; Le Calendrier Israelite; and chapters on festivals. The accompanying illustrations, which have a charming hand drawn appearance, are of the Decalogue, tallit, tefillin, a sefer Torah, Pesah, the Ten Commandments for Shavu’ot, and for Sukkot, Rosh HaShannah, and Hanukkah.
