Description		    Only edition of this commentary on the weekly sedrah and haftarot by R. Maimun ben Reuven Abo. The title page is comprised of ten paragraphs, each beginning Mai and concluding mun, that is Maimun. It is dated, “I will bless the אברך את (624 = 1864) Lord, who has given me counsel” (Psalms 16:7). There is an introduction from the author, in which the ten first and seven last paragraphs begin אנא. The text follows, in two columns in rabbinic type, excepting headers and initial words which are in square letters. Haftarot follow the parashah. There is also commentary for haftarot for festivals. The volume concludes with an addenda (73b-80a) of material omitted from the text and an index of tractates and other rabbinic sources quoted in Benei Reuven. The commentary is sharp and includes gematriot. For example, the second entry on לך לך states that the numerical value of לך לך is one hundered, to inform you that Abraham was told to leave his land and birth place for a hundred years, for he lived for one hundred seventy five years, and as it says, “and Abram was seventy five years old when he departed from Haran” (Genesis 12:4), leaving one hundred years.
