Detailed
Description
Takkanot of the Bukharin community in Jerusalem. The text begins with a brief statement of intent that these are the enactments of the community and to nullify customs that are undesirable that have followed until the present. They accept this upon themselves and those who came after them. There are fourteen paragraphs, beginning with a prohibition on sending gifts, whether of money or equal value, sweets or other foods or drinks, on the day of a berit, huppah, tefillin, or traveling or ascending to a position of sanctity, for this can lead to thievery. Another decree (10) is a prohibition in the home of a mourner from giving out eggs, cakes, or anything similar to those who come to the home on the four Shabbats of the month and the seasons of the year, even to a Talmudic sage. The names of the seven members of the community council appear after the takkanot. This is followed by formulae to be recited and additional regulations, such as 3) on the day of the milah or on which tefillin is put on, a wealthy person pays a fourth מג'די and an average person one בישליק to all. These enactments are followed by additional names. The takkanot concludes with a longer list of names of supporters of the enactments.
