Detailed Description |
|
A translation of Koheleth (Ecclesiastes) together with a grammatical, explanatory commentary by Moses Heinemann (1796-1850). The text is in German with frequent use of Hebrew words and phrases. The text is set up so that there is a line in the middle of most pages. The area above the line is dedicated to explaining the meanings of the actual words of the text of Koheleth. Below the line is an expansive discussion of the meaning of the text.
Heinemann was also the author of Religiöse Blüthen zur Beförderung frommer Gesinnungen (Berlin 1828), Elementarisches Unterrichts-Buch bei Erlernung der hebräischen Sprache (Berlin, 1830) and Wahrheiten (Berlin, 1858).
