Addressed to R. Seltzer of the Agudat Harabonim in New York, the rabbi seeks advice on several issues pertaining to Sabbath observance and kashrut. R. Mordecai Jacob b. Reuven Golinkin (1884-1975) was born in a small town near Vilna and educated in the famous Lithuanian yeshivot. He served as rabbi of Zhitomir and Danzig before emigrating the the US as a result of the Nazi murders in Germany in 1939. R. Golinkin was rabbi of Worcester until his passing. Toldot Anshei Shem ascribes two work to R. Golinkin Tordot haRim (Berdichev 1913) homiletics and Gali Yam (?). |
