Description
Followup on the removal of an unqualified rabbi by the Agudat haRabonim. R. Elezar Reuven Muskin (b. 1889) was born near Kovno, educated in Lithuanian yeshivot. R. Muskin arrived in Chicago in 1912, began what became an illustrious rabbinical career. He was involved in all major Chicagoan decisions affecting Jewish religious life. The slaughterers of kosher meet, the supervisors, the butchers, etc. all were made to abide by his rulings. A erudite scholar, he published many articles and responsa in contemporary periodicals.
